Beginning in September, the Dangote oil refinery will supply the Nigerian market with 25 million liters of petrol per day.<\/p>\n
The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority announced on Tuesday that this will increase to 30 million litres in September.<\/p>\n
In a brief statement, the NMDPRA stated that it met with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to agree on local crude supplies to the refinery.<\/p>\n
“At the NMDPRA headquarters in Abuja, NNPCL agreed to start selling crude oil to Dangote Refinery in local currency.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe refinery is now poised to supply an initial 25 million litres of PMS into the domestic market this September. And will subsequently increase this amount to 30 million litres daily from October 2024,\u201d the NMDPRA said on its X page.<\/p>\n
Aliko Dangote has publicly announced that the 650,000-capacity oil refinery in Lagos has begun petrol production.<\/p>\n
In a live broadcast on Tuesday, Dangote stated that the delivery of petrol into Nigeria would alter the country’s energy landscape.<\/p>\n
While praising President Bola Tinubu for sanctioning the sale of crude in naira to local refineries, Dangote stated that many people did not believe the $20 billion refinery could begin petrol production.<\/p>\n
