Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has swiftly inaugurated 21 newly elected Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Councillors just 72 hours after their election. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi on Monday, following the local government elections held on Saturday, August 31, 2024.<\/p>\n

In his address, Governor Idris emphasized the importance of transparency and urged the newly inaugurated officials to maintain an open-door policy while discharging their constitutional duties. He advised them to work closely with their vice chairmen and councillors to ensure that the needs and interests of the people at the grassroots level are effectively addressed.<\/p>\n

Governor Idris highlighted the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the elections, noting that the party won all elective positions across the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state. He expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and fair conduct of the election.<\/p>\n

The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Umar Abubakar. Following the inauguration, Governor Idris provided the new chairmen with new Hilux vehicles to facilitate their official duties.<\/p>\n
