The Ekiti State Government, through the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Digital Economy, has announced the commencement of the state’s first-ever Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Boot Camp for selected secondary school students. The week-long event is scheduled to take place from September 1st to September 7th, 2024, at Government Secondary School, Ado Ekiti.<\/p>\n

In a statement released in Ado-Ekiti, the Commissioner of the Ministry, Mr. Seun Fakuade, revealed that the event is designed to immerse students in the exciting world of STEAM fields. “We are thrilled to bring this unique opportunity to the students selected from all the Government Secondary Schools in Ekiti State,” Fakuade said.<\/p>\n

The STEAM Boot Camp will feature a variety of hands-on activities and interactive workshops aimed at engaging students in creative problem-solving and critical thinking. According to Fakuade, participants “would have the opportunity to work with industry professionals and experts in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.”<\/p>\n

Fakuade emphasized the importance of STEAM education in preparing students for future endeavors, noting that the selected students “will have the chance to participate in various activities such as robotics workshops, coding sessions, art projects, and more.” He stated that the goal of the Boot Camp is “to inspire students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics fields and to foster a love for learning and experimentation.”<\/p>\n
