The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local industries, drive growth, improve quality, and create jobs.<\/p>\n
NADDC Director General, Joseph Osanipin, made this pledge during the Local Auto Component Manufacturing Tour, organized in collaboration with the African Association of Auto Manufacturers (AAAM).<\/p>\n
The tour visited key automotive facilities in Enugu and Anambra States, including Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing and Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMCO).<\/p>\n
Osanipin emphasized Nigeria’s potential to leverage its manufacturing capabilities, particularly in plastic components, to enhance its position in Africa’s automotive market.<\/p>\n
He commended Innoson’s advanced equipment and discussed future collaborations to meet international standards. At ANAMCO, Osanipin acknowledged the company’s infrastructure but noted production challenges due to market demand issues.<\/p>\n
Innoson founder, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, lauded the collaborative spirit among African manufacturers and their shared goal of expanding production capacity. He reaffirmed his commitment to the federal government’s CNG Automotive Initiative.<\/p>\n
Victoria Backhaus Jerling from the German Association of the Automotive Industry highlighted Nigeria’s potential for German investment and local partnerships, stressing the need for technical collaboration and standardization.<\/p>\n
ANAMCO’s Director of Corporate Services Uche Okeke expressed gratitude for the NADDC visit, showcasing ANAMCO’s successful third-party manufacturing agreements and readiness to assist industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n
