Abia State Governor Alex Otti has flagged off the reconstruction of the 41.4-kilometer Ohafia-Arochukwu Highway, which will stretch to the Akwa Ibom border.<\/p>\n
At the launch ceremony held at Old Soldier Junction, Ebem Ohafia, Otti described the project as a game-changer, promising completion within 18 months.<\/p>\n
“Today, we embark on a transformative journey to end the long-standing suffering of our people,” Otti said. “This project will breathe new life into over 60 communities and clans along this corridor.”<\/p>\n
Otti noted that the road’s rehabilitation would alleviate embarrassment caused by its poor condition, particularly to international visitors and tourists.<\/p>\n
Commissioner for Works Otuechere Oti hailed the project as a turning point in the socio-economic landscape of Arochukwu, Ohafia, and Abia State.<\/p>\n
Ohafia Local Government Chairman David Onuoha praised Governor Otti for addressing the long-neglected road issue, which had plagued successive administrations.<\/p>\n
