Liverpool will host West Ham United at Anfield in the round three (round of 32) of the 2024\/25 Carabao Cup.<\/p>\n
The draw was confirmed after the round two fixtures were concluded on Tuesday night.
\nThe Reds are the current holders of the Carabao Cup after edging Chelsea 1-0 in the final last season.<\/p>\n
The 2024\/25 Carabao Cup will feature the following matchups:<\/p>\n
– Liverpool will host West Ham United at Anfield.
\n– Manchester City will face Watford at the Etihad Stadium.
\n– Arsenal will play against Bolton Wanderers at their home ground.
\n– Manchester United will welcome Barnsley to Old Trafford.
\n– Chelsea and Barrow will compete at Stamford Bridge.
\n– Everton will take on Southampton, QPP will play against Crystal Palace, and Preston North End will face Fulham.
\n– Additionally, Brighton will go against Wolves, Wimbledon will play Newcastle United, Coventry will take on Tottenham Hotspur, and Wycombe will face Aston Villa.<\/p>\n
These games are set to take place in September.<\/p>\n
The Carabao Cup, previously known as the Football League Cup, is one of England’s top domestic football competitions, alongside the Premier League and FA Cup. It was introduced in 1960\u201361 as a response to the growing appeal of European football and the introduction of floodlights, allowing midweek evening games. The tournament was rebranded as the EFL Cup from the 2016\u201317 season onwards.<\/p>\n
The winners of the Carabao Cup not only receive the Cup but also qualify for European football. Liverpool is the most successful club in the competition, with 10 titles. Manchester City follows them with eight titles and Manchester United with six titles.
