Wilfred Ndidi opened his goals account for the season as Leicester City thrashed lower division club Tranmere Rovers 4-0, in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Also on target for the Foxes was summer signing Jordan Ayew, who assisted Ndidi\u2019s goal.
\nNdidi scored in the 71st minute to put Leicester 3-0 while Ayew opened the scoring on 38 minutes.<\/p>\n
Stephy Mavididi made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on 51 minutes while Harry Winks got the fourth goal in the 90th minute.
\nNdidi was later replaced in the 72nd minute by Will Alves.<\/p>\n
In another Carabao Cup encounter, Alex Iwobi was in action for Fulham who sealed a 2-0 win at Birmingham.<\/p>\n
Iwobi\u2019s Nigerian teammate Calvin Bassey did not feature as he was an unused substitute.<\/p>\n
Other results saw Crystal Palace hammer Norwich City 4-0 with Eberechi Eze getting on the score sheet, Watford beat Plymouth 2-0, QPR edged Luton on penalties after regulation time ended 1-1, Everton beat Doncaster 3-0 and Stoke trounced Middlesbrough 5-0.<\/p>\n
Ndidi, Iwobi and Bassey have been invited for next weekend\u2019s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
