The Abia State Government has issued a statement of her plan to start community development programmes to ensure even allocation of socio-economic growth in rural areas.<\/p>\n
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr Okey Kanu,\u00a0 said this on Monday after the State Executive Council meeting in Umuahia, he also noted that the programmes, known as \u201cCommunity Choose Your Project\u201d, would be carried out via the Abia State Community Social Development Agency.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government\u2019s efforts to rebuild Abia will not just be focused on Aba and Umuahia.<\/p>\n
\u201cGovernment is being strategic in its bid to rebuild the state and has decided to move to the hinterlands,\u201d he said.According to him, government officials will tour various rural communities to interact with the people to know the what\u00a0 infrastructure they will need for their various communities.<\/p>\n
Kanu said that the people would choose the projects that they want the government to deliver in their communities, adding that the cost of executing the project must not be more than N15 million.<\/p>\n
