The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to emulate the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) by immediately redeploying Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Sylvia Agu. The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made this recommendation in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.<\/p>\n

Ologunagba called on INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to respond to allegations of compromise against Agu and take swift action to ensure the neutrality of the Saturday governorship election in Imo.<\/p>\n

The PDP stressed that the redeployment of Agu is crucial to restore public confidence in the electoral process, guarantee a credible election, and prevent potential crises in the state.<\/p>\n

The PDP emphasized that the integrity of an election depends on the electorate’s confidence in the electoral process, and Agu’s continued stay as Imo REC is detrimental to this trust.<\/p>\n
