According to reports, in the last two weeks, at least 27 kidnappers\u2014including members of Ekpa\u2014were reportedly shot and killed during shootouts with security personnel at various points throughout the state.<\/p>\n
But in a quick reaction, Ekpa claimed in a statement released on Thursday via his official X that the 27 people the Enugu Police were said to have slain were Biafran innocents.<\/p>\n
Ekpa emphasized that the 27 people slain were innocent Biafrans, not his loyalists.<\/p>\n
He claimed that the administration of Enugu State was using propaganda to justify its violent assault on its populace.<\/p>\n
“This is incorrect and deceptive; worse, it has revealed Nigeria as a failed state and a government that has failed to protect human dignity.<\/p>\n
“Simon Ekpa has no boys in Enugu, you have killed innocent Biafrans to prove a point to Abuja” , he replied.<\/p>\n
