The Katsina State Police Command has launched a manhunt to apprehend the killers of Aliyu Yahaya, a member of the Nigerian Hunters Association. Yahaya was brutally murdered in his home in the Jibia Local Government Area on August 13, 2024, during a terrorist attack.<\/p>\n
According to ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the Public Relations Officer of the Police Command, an investigation is underway, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the perpetrators. Yahaya’s home, located in the Mazanya district of Magamar-Jibia, was invaded by armed terrorists in the early hours of the day. They shot him, set his body ablaze, and abducted his wife, son, and three neighbors.<\/p>\n
Salisu Yahaya, a family member, shared the heartbreaking details of the attack, revealing that despite being fatally wounded, Yahaya fought to protect his family from being kidnapped, but the terrorists overpowered him. The attack has left the community in mourning, with Basiru Muhammad, a colleague of the deceased, praising Yahaya’s patriotism and commitment to serving his community.<\/p>\n
Residents are now calling for urgent security measures to prevent further attacks. Amadu Bello, a neighbor whose two wives and mother-in-law were also abducted, urged the government to prioritize rescue efforts and enhance security presence in the region. Local leaders, including traditional titleholder Aminu Dan Mugyanbo, are appealing to state authorities for decisive action to address the growing security challenges in Jibia and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
