The burial of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the first civilian governor of old Abia State and former Minister of Science and Technology, has been scheduled for November 8, 2024, at his Uburu country home in Ebonyi State.<\/p>\n
A statement by the burial committee, co-signed by Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and Chief Rotimi Amaechi, announced the funeral arrangements. Dr. Onu passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 73 after a brief illness.<\/p>\n
The burial committee outlined the following funeral schedule:<\/p>\n
– November 4: Night of tributes at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja
\n– November 5: Requiem Mass at Church of Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja
\n– November 6: Lying-in-state at Abia State Executive Council Chambers and day of tributes at International Conference Centre, Umuahia
\n– November 7: Lying-in-state at Ebonyi State Executive Council Chambers and Requiem Mass\/Wake at Uburu
\n– November 8: Funeral service and interment at Uburu, Ohaozara LGA, Ebonyi State<\/p>\n
