To combat banditry in the Tureta Local Government Area and surrounding communities, the Sokoto State Government has approved the development of the Tureta-Gidan Kare road, which will make bandits’ dens more accessible.<\/p>\n
Governor Ahmed Aliyu made the announcement during his visit to Tureta Local Government on Monday, as part of his state-wide tour of the state’s 23 local governments.<\/p>\n
According to him, once completed, the road will allow security agents easy access to the trees that serve as hideouts for criminals in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a government, we are committed to providing all that is necessary to make our local communities safe and free from any security challenges.<\/p>\n
\u201cRest assured, we will spend our last kobo to guarantee the safety of the lives and property of our people.’<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are deeply concerned by the heinous acts of banditry in our dear state, and we are taking further measures to end the menace, Insha Allah,\u201d he vowed.<\/p>\n
To reach the goal, the governor urged the people to pray a lot and lend more assistance.<\/p>\n
In addition, Aliyu pledged to build feeder roads, carry out water projects, restore the Jumuat Mosque, and install<\/p>\n
There are 250 solar-powered streetlights nearby.
\nThe governor visited the local government areas of Silame, Bodinga, and Dange Shuni in a similar manner.<\/p>\n
