Governor Ahmadu Fintiri made this known during a meeting with leaders of the organized labour, as confirmed by the state\u2019s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Emmanuel Fashe, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), workers in the state will begin receiving the new minimum wage starting from the end of August, while local government workers will start benefiting from it next month. Fashe explained that the state government will use the consequential adjustment table from the 2019 implementation of the previous N32,000 minimum wage, pending the release of the new salary rate table from the National Salaries, Wages, and Income Commission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whatever the worker was getting as the present national minimum wage of N32,000 as it applies to Adamawa State, that same will be applied in terms of percentages in the implementation of the new minimum wage,&#8221; Fashe stated.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He further added that Governor Fintiri&#8217;s early acceptance of the new minimum wage, even before the release of the guide from the Salaries and Wages Commission, underscores his commitment to workers&#8217; welfare.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Humwashi Wonosikou, confirming the governor&#8217;s stance, reiterated that Governor Fintiri expressed readiness to implement the new wage during the meeting with labour leaders.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Adamawa State Government has announced its commitment to implementing the N70,000 minimum monthly wage, which was recently legislated and signed into law at the federal level.
