Threads Software Ltd, a spin-off from JPY Ltd, conducted its first commercial sale in the USA and has since licensed its software to over 1,000 organizations worldwide, with current sales growing at a remarkable rate of 200 percent per year.<\/p>\n
Threads Software is pursuing legal action against Meta for the use of its brand name. The thread app, launched by Meta in 2019, was designed as a competitor to Snapchat rather than a Twitter clone. Threads Software is gearing up to take on Meta, potentially leading to a compensation payment. Asserting ownership of the trademark name, the British software company has issued a 30-day notice to Meta to comply.<\/p>\n
In an official press release, John Yardley, the Managing Director of Threads Software, acknowledged the challenge of taking on one of the world’s largest tech companies. He emphasized that this battle represents a classic David and Goliath scenario with Meta. While Meta may believe it can use any name it chooses, it does not grant them the right to utilize Threads Software’s brand name.<\/p>\n
Yardley also revealed that lawyers acting on behalf of Meta made four offers from April 2023 to purchase the Threads app domain, all of which were declined by Threads Software, firmly asserting that the domain was not for sale. In July, Meta Threads was officially announced, and Threads Software subsequently found its Facebook account shut down.<\/p>\n
