Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, announced that fourteen miscreants were apprehended by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps for harassing passengers in the Oshodi region of the state. The miscreants would face legal action.<\/p>\n
Wahab promised that the arrested individuals would face legal action in compliance with Lagos State environmental law when he made the announcement on his verified X profile, which was once Twitter, on Thursday.<\/p>\n
“Earlier today, 14 miscreants who were abusing bystanders and travelers at Oshodi’s Terminal 3 were taken into custody.<\/p>\n
He declared, “They have been profiled and will face prosecution in line with the environmental law of Lagos State.”<\/p>\n
The arrests are compliant with the environmental policy for a cleaner and saner Lagos as well as upholding law and order.<\/p>\n
The Lagos\/Ibadan Expressway prohibits open defecation. The campaign, which focuses on the area between OPIC Plaza and Otedola Bridge, was initiated by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA).<\/p>\n
In addition to stopping the spread of cholera and other infectious diseases, the initiative aims to improve environmental sustainability and public health.
