Ezekwesili, in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), expressed her refusal to sing the old anthem and challenged the Speaker to prepare for her prosecution if the bill is passed into law. She asserted that the bill is a “silly flight of fancy” and criticized the lawmakers for what she perceives as their continued irrelevance and negative impact on Nigeria’s progress.<\/p>\n

In her posts, Ezekwesili maintained that she would continue to sing the current national anthem, “Arise O Compatriots,” and accused the lawmakers of subverting Nigeria’s progress through their actions.
