Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, has returned to office and instructed his staff to do the same.<\/p>\n
In a video broadcast on X.com on Monday, Shaibu wrote, \u201cIn adherence to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, I announce my official resumption to the office. God Bless Edo State, God Bless Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a video address, Shaibu directed those who haven\u2019t resumed work since his reinstatement to do so immediately or face consequences. He emphasized that the Federal High Court\u2019s judgment, which reinstated him, meant his office was never vacant.<\/p>\n
He warned banks against conducting transactions with his office without his explicit approval, citing illegality.<\/p>\n
Shaibu also expressed sadness over the killing of a police officer attached to the Edo APC governorship candidate, which occurred upon his return to the state. He noted that suspects have been arrested.<\/p>\n
