The two brothers, who were part of the popular music group P-Square, initially parted ways in 2016 but reunited in 2021. However, Rudeboy recently confirmed that the group has split again, though he did not provide reasons.

In his open letter, published on his verified Facebook page, Mr P accused his brother of undermining his contributions and disrespecting him, his wife, and his family. Here is the full text of the letter:

Full Letter

My dear brother Paul,

As I have told you multiple times, I am not in competition with you or anyone else. However, it’s disheartening to see you repeatedly discredit my efforts in the group we both built together. In your recent interviews, you claimed that you wrote and sang 99% of all P-SQUARE’s songs and disparaged me by saying that our song with TI, “EjeaJo,” which I wrote, was a failure. You even used YouTube views to belittle me further.

You have ignored other significant songs such as “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” “Personally,” “Roll It,” “Temptation,” “Alingo,” “More than a Friend,” “Shekini,” “Say Your Love,” “Gimme Dat,” “Senorita,” and “IGBEdu.” Were these songs also failures?

Whenever I have spoken about P-SQUARE in interviews, I have always used “we” and “us” because I saw us as a team. But when you speak, it’s always “I” and “me,” as if I don’t exist.

Neither of us is the most talented artist in the world, but we were given this talent by God and granted another chance to succeed after our last breakup. Instead, you have chosen to turn our successful music group into a laughingstock once again.

The fans didn’t love P-SQUARE because of who sang or danced the most. Our appeal was the magic created by our combined efforts—us two together. P-SQUARE was special because of our unity and uniqueness.

We both have talent, and I have often praised you for your songwriting skills. However, rather than appreciating my kind words, you seem to find satisfaction in undermining me, forgetting that our success is due to God’s grace.

Instead of collaborating with me to regain our top spot in the music industry, you chose to align with Jude to assert dominance within P-SQUARE, often marginalizing and humiliating me in the process.

You claim to be P-SQUARE’s songwriter, composer, producer, singer, backup vocalist, video director, band, promoter, manager, and choreographer. It seems you consider yourself the Author and Finisher of P-SQUARE. I’m willing to give you 100% of everything if that’s what you need to feel validated.

I regret not responding to your April 2015 tweet claiming you wrote and sang all P-SQUARE’s songs. I kept silent for the sake of peace, as advised by family and friends, but now I am suffering for it.

So let me ask you: Is Rudeboy or Mr P more successful than P-SQUARE today? Are we individually selling out arenas and topping charts like we used to as P-SQUARE?

What do you gain by constantly disrespecting and belittling me? You have disrespected my wife, my family, my talent, my ideas, and even sided with Jude when he was oppressing me.

Now, it feels like you are trying to turn the fans against me, making them believe I am jealous of you. Despite your efforts, the fans will never hate me; instead, they will be disappointed in both of us for failing them.

I hope you find satisfaction in this. I genuinely wish you the best. For those who have been misled and leave negative comments on my page, I understand. Please allow me to focus on my music in peace.

I will address the EFCC matter by the end of the day. Stay tuned! Peace.

This letter highlights the ongoing tension between the brothers and their complicated relationship following the split of P-Square.

Peter Okoye, aka Mr P, has addressed his brother Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, in an open letter following a recent dispute that has led to their separation for the second time.
