A dynamite explosion has shaken the Action People\u2019s Party secretariat along the GRA axis in Port Harcourt, Rivers State\u2019s capital, as\u00a0a palpable tension arises.<\/p>\n
The explosion occurred in the early hours of Monday, August 12, 2024.<\/p>\n
The assailants allegedly threw substances believed to be dynamite into the building housing the secretariat shattering windows and doors, as well as destroying other property of the party.
\nThe explosion also damaged the ceiling and fittings in the building leaving the leadership and members of the party in panic.<\/p>\n
Amidst speculations that the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, plans to move with his supporters to the APP following the alleged hijack of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state by his predecessor and estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike, came this.
\nAccording to a member of the party who gave his name simply as Chimene: \u201cYes, I\u2019m a member of the APP. I was informed of the attack about 3am today.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is politically motivated and there is no two ways about it. They know that the APP is a fast-growing political party in the state. We call on the police to investigate this and arrest the culprits. \u201c
