The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom, on Saturday, elected executive committee members for the 31 local government areas in the state.<\/p>\n
The party also elected one national delegate each from the 31 local government areas.<\/p>\n
Borono Bassey, the publicity secretary, told journalists on Sunday in Uyo that the executive committees would serve for four years.<\/p>\n
Mr Bassey said that each of the local government areas had a total of 18 executive committee officers, which included a physically challenged person.<\/p>\n
He commended members of the party for their peaceful disposition, unity and conduct during the election.<\/p>\n
He said that Gov. Umo Eno had remained focussed towards positioning the party for electoral victories.<\/p>\n
Aniekan Akpan, the chairman of the party, said that the party belonged to the people, adding, \u201cwe must continue to serve the people\u2019s interest.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur party is privileged to stay as the most loved and preferred political party by our people.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we must continue to do things that will improve our people\u2019s welfare. Things that will make people to continue to admire and choose our party,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
