The disruptions occurred at the height of the summer travel season, stranding<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>thousands of Delta customers, a rare incident for the carrier that markets itself as a\u00a0premium carrier\u00a0that gets top marks for reliability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn operational disruption of this length and magnitude is unacceptable, and our customers and employees deserve better,\u201d CEO Ed Bastian said in the filing. \u201cSince the incident, our people have returned the operation to an industry-leading position that is consistent with the level of performance our customers expect from Delta.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Delta\u2019s cancellations in the days after the outage topped its tally for all of 2019.
