Newcastle United have announced the signing of Danish-born Nigerian striker William Osula.<\/p>\n
The Magpies announced the signing in a statement on their website on Thursday.
\n\u201cNewcastle United have completed the signing of striker William Osula from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee,\u201d the club statement read.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 21-year-old made 21 Premier League appearances last season and has also represented Denmark Under-21s on five occasions, including this summer when he scored a brace against Norway.<\/p>\n
\u201cBorn in Copenhagen, Osula started his youth career in the Danish capital before moving to South Yorkshire and joining Sheffield United\u2019s academy in 2018.
\n\u201cHe signed his first professional contract with the club in 2021 and enjoyed a loan spell with Derby County during the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n
\u201cCapable of playing as a striker or from the flanks, Osula now arrives in the North East and adds further options to Eddie Howe\u2019s squad ahead of the upcoming season.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking after completing his transfer to Newcastle, Osula said: \u201cI\u2019m very happy to be here. It\u2019s a big club, a great club, so I\u2019m very happy for the opportunity to join Newcastle United.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity, and as soon as I heard about Newcastle\u2019s interest, I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came.
