This was conveyed during a briefing with members of the diplomatic corps on the Federal Government\u2019s programs and policies, held in Abuja on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The nationwide #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria protests, which began on Thursday, August 1, were sparked by the hardships faced by citizens. Major highways were blocked, exacerbating the situation and contributing to the unrest. The protests gained momentum in key cities such as Lagos, Kano, Gombe, Yobe, Borno, Niger, Kebbi, Abuja, and other northern towns, and were marked by instances of violence.<\/p>\n<p>Violence during the protests was at times instigated by security officials and at other times by overzealous protesters or counter-protesters. Over the weekend, media reports and footage revealed that some EndBadGovernance protesters were carrying Russian flags. This development led to President Bola Tinubu&#8217;s national broadcast on Sunday, where he urged protest organizers to suspend their actions due to the violence, which had resulted in loss of lives and property damage.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the Nigeria Police Force arrested at least 30 EndBadGovernance protesters in Kano and other states, who were found waving Russian flags. Additionally, a flag producer named Ahmed Bello was arrested in Kano with a large quantity of flags.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Tuggar appealed for ongoing collaboration from the international community to support Nigeria\u2019s efforts in overcoming its current challenges. He stressed the importance of non-interference, stating, \u201cNo nation tolerates foreign interference in its domestic affairs and that of its citizens. Nigeria is not an exception.
