Manchester City will demand at least \u00a360 million before add-ons for Julian Alvarez, following interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.<\/p>\n
Alvarez spent two seasons at City, and scored 19 goals last term as they ended the campaign with a historic fourth Premier League title in a row.
\nThe 24-year-old made 54 appearances in all competitions and was the eighth-highest outfield City player in terms of minutes played across the season<\/p>\n
However, The Athletic (Via Metro) reports that Alvarez wants more playing time at City and is seeking to leave during the summer transfer window.
\nThe report claims that City would not stand in Alvarez\u2019s way but are demanding a \u00a360m transfer fee, plus a further \u00a317m in add-ons.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s also claimed that Alvarez and his family would prefer to live in a warmer climate than Manchester.
\nAtletico Madrid have been pushing to sign Alvarez this summer but are unwilling to meet City\u2019s asking price.<\/p>\n
Alvarez may also have the option to remain in the Premier League as reports in Argentina claimed last month that Chelsea is considering a move.
\nArsenal have also been linked with Alvarez as Mikel Arteta is keen to add a versatile attacking player to his squad after they finished second behind City in the Premier League last season.<\/p>\n
Alvarez made five appearances for Argentina in their successful Copa America campaign this summer and is now representing the national side at the Olympics in Paris.<\/p>\n
He will be granted an extended break and is set to miss the start of the newseason with City, who play Manchester United in the Community Shield on August 10 before travelling to Chelsea for their Premier League opener on August 18.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
