Professor Chukwumerije Okeke, President of the Society for Planet &amp; Prosperity, presented the methodologies used in the assessment. He explained that the evaluation criteria included policy implementation, community engagement, and environmental impact measures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the rankings, Lagos emerged as the top performer, demonstrating exceptional commitment to climate governance and sustainable practices. Gombe secured the second position, reflecting significant progress in its climate initiatives. Ebonyi state achieved third place, showcasing its growing efforts in addressing climate challenges. Ekiti and Borno states were tied for the fourth position, indicating notable but still developing climate governance efforts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The report underscores the importance of robust climate governance at the subnational level and provides a benchmark for other states to follow. The collaboration between the Society for Planet &amp; Prosperity and the Federal Ministry of Environment aims to foster a competitive spirit among states and drive progress towards national climate goals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The event also served as a platform for discussing future initiatives and strategies to enhance climate governance across Nigeria.
