The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) branch, has suspended the five-day warning strike embarked on over the non-payment of salaries owed some members.
\nAshiru Mikail, NARD\u2019s vice-president said on Tuesday in Zaria that the strike was suspended on Monday evening.<\/p>\n
He said the resident doctors had resumed work at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He said that the strike was suspended following a marathon meeting between the association and the management of ABUTH.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cThere was a serious commitment from the part of the management to address the demands of the association; the management had pledged to stop percentage salary payments to our members.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe meeting had also charted robust initiatives to curtail further industrial disharmony between the association and ABUTH management\u201d.<\/p>\n
The association had embarked on a five-day warning strike on July 22 to protest percentage salary payments for members on the GIFMIS platform non-payment of accoutrement allowance, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
