Nigerian boxer Dolapo Omole has expressed sadness after a knee injury prevented him from competing in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, scheduled from July 26 to August 11.
\nOmole, a medal hopeful for Team Nigeria, has achieved remarkable victories, including winning gold in Senegal, which earned him a spot at the Paris Olympics.<\/p>\n
In a press statement made available to CompleteSports.com, the 13th African Games gold medalist expressed optimism about making a comeback.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m depressed and hoping to rise again stronger because I\u2019m bitterly down. The knee injury is very painful; I wish myself a quick recovery,\u201d Omole said in a statement from the African Boxing Confederation.<\/p>\n
Adura Olalehin, Omole\u2019s coach, confirmed the boxer\u2019s withdrawal from the Olympics to AFBC Communications, citing the medical issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cDue to a medical issue, Dolapo is not going to Paris,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
