Following his resumption of duty as the duly elected and legally reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu yesterday received a solidarity visit from Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State, in Benin City.<\/p>\n
The visit comes on the heels of yesterday’s brutal and unprovoked attack on my convoy at the Benin Airport, which targeted my life and was perpetrated by state-sponsored thugs, following my return to the state.<\/p>\n
Emperor Tenebe, joined by other APC chieftains, unequivocally condemned this heinous act and celebrated our recent victory at the Federal High Court, Abuja.<\/p>\n
During their meeting, they honoured the memory of the gallant police officer attached to the APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo’s security detail, who tragically lost his life in the unwarranted attack, with a minute of silence<\/p>\n
The deputy Governor said he appreciate the APC Chairman’s unwavering support and kind words, which have consistently lifted his spirits throughout his ordeal with the state government and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
