{"id":39421,"date":"2024-07-18T10:00:29","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T10:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=39421"},"modified":"2024-07-18T10:00:29","modified_gmt":"2024-07-18T10:00:29","slug":"minister-adelabu-establishes-working-group-to-address-power-sector-challenges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/07\/18\/minister-adelabu-establishes-working-group-to-address-power-sector-challenges\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister Adelabu Establishes Working Group to Address Power Sector Challenges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has launched the Ministerial Power Sector Working Group, a platform designed to facilitate supervisory, monitoring, and oversight control of the power sector.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja, Adelabu emphasized the working group&#8217;s role in providing clarity on sectoral issues through detailed explanations and fostering collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that while similar meetings had taken place in the past, the re-establishment and enhancement of the working group aims to create a robust platform for information sharing, dissemination, and sector-wide communication, ultimately driving productivity and progress in the power sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe meeting of the working group would serve more like a backup for sector coordination and centralised project management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe\u00a0 benefits of the meeting of the working groups is the synergy that we tend to gain from coming together for the first year and capacity optimisation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Adelabu said that the meeting would further serve as a training platform and a refresher opportunity for optimum representation of the power sector.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the working group to work hard to achieve the set target.<\/p>\n<p>Also, at the meeting, directors and\u00a0 agencies under the supervision of the Ministry of Power also signed a\u00a0 performance contract to ensure proper tracking and supervision of projects.<\/p>\n<p>The performance contract was signed on behalf of the agencies by the chief executive officers ( CEOs) and the permanent secretary, Ministry of Power on behalf of the Directors.<\/p>\n<p>The agencies which signed the contract included the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Rural Electrification Agency (REA), National Power Training Institute (NAPTIN), Nigerian Electricity Management and Safety Agency (NEMSA).<\/p>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"aswift_4_host\">The minister, however, expressed confidence and assurance that the overall target would be achieved by the working group.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has launched the Ministerial Power Sector Working Group, a platform designed to facilitate supervisory, monitoring, and oversight control of the power sector.
