The Police Command of Oyo State has advised citizens to ignore a viral video which surfaced on social media issuing eviction ultimatums to herders in the Igboho area of the state.
\nSP Adewale Osifeso, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
He noted that the video was created by agents of mischief to disrupt the peace in the state by inciting violence and civil disturbances.
\nOsifeso added that no official notice of eviction was issued by any authority or group in the state.<\/p>\n
According to him \u201cThe Oyo State Police Command wishes to dispel unfounded rumours and speculations across certain segments making the round on the social media, over the purported eviction of Herders at Igboho, Oorelope, Local Government Areas by suspected separatist groups members as misleading and complete falsehood.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo notice of eviction was pronounced by any individual or group on anyone at any period in time.\u201d
\nFurthermore, He stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Ayodele Sonubi had tasked the supervising Area Commander in charge to personally lead patrols and increase visibility of personnel around the jurisdiction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
