The highly anticipated reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, is back for its ninth season, promising a grand prize of \u20a6100 million and a brand new SUV for this year\u2019s winner. The announcement was made by Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, during a news conference on Tuesday in Lagos. The show is set to premiere on July 28.<\/p>\n
Tejumola revealed that this year\u2019s edition, which will run for 71 days until October 6, will be packed with excitement and drama. “The ninth season of the Big Brother Naija show will be going beyond drama; we will be bringing in different blends of unique entertainment,” she stated. “The challenging aspect of the show will be that the housemates will be going into the house in pairs and doing some of the house challenges in pairs.”<\/p>\n
She urged viewers to stay tuned for the premiere on Sunday, July 28, where the theme and many intriguing twists of the season will be unveiled. “The show holds lots of fun, vibes, emotion, drama, dynamics, and intriguing twists,” she added.<\/p>\n
In addition to the main show, the Big Brother Naija Buzz, hosted by Toke Makinwa, will provide fans with behind-the-scenes insights. Tejumola mentioned that this season will feature several surprises from Big Brother, including the absence of the usual Head of House challenge. “There will be something that will be unraveled from the night of the premiere,” she hinted. “We will not be having the Head of House challenge as usual, there will be lots of twists from Big Brother. The pool party and the Saturday night party will be held, and the show will air 24 hours.”<\/p>\n
Tope Oshunkeye, Head of Marketing at MultiChoice, also highlighted some interactive elements for the viewers, including the “Lock-in” game.
