Governor Alex Otti took significant steps in strengthening governance and public service delivery in Abia State by commissioning the Civil Service Commission and inaugurating the Abia State Commission for the Welfare of Disabled Persons, as well as the Abia State House of Assembly Commission on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
In a comprehensive ceremony, Governor Otti also swore in Kenechukwu Nwosu as the special adviser on education and Green Amankwe as the special adviser on investment promotion.<\/p>\n
During the inauguration, Governor Otti charged the newly appointed officials to uphold fairness in their duties. “You must resist the temptation to be parochial or provincial in the execution of the functions of our respective offices. You may have come from one community, but as an official of the Abia State Government, your constituency is the whole of Abia,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n
Governor Otti reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and ensuring the efficient use of resources to address critical needs. “We certainly cannot accomplish everything in one day, but we must strive to see that there is something new and meaningful to report each time we face the people. What makes us different is that we are running a government that is 100 percent accountable to the people of the state and God,” he said.<\/p>\n
He made it clear that corruption would not be tolerated under his administration. “For clarity, let the warning be given in advance that once we establish any case of self-serving activities that go against the values we subscribe to as a government, we shall be left with no option but to ask you to leave and perhaps hand you over to the law enforcement agencies for further investigations,” Governor Otti warned.<\/p>\n
The Civil Service Commission members include Patience Orikara, Chinemerem Orji, and Chibuike Alozie. The Abia State Commission for the Welfare of Disabled Persons will be chaired by David Anyaele, with members Stanley Onyebuchi, Emenike Amakwe, Chinenye Ogboso, and Ijeoma Harriet. The Abia House of Assembly Service Commission members are Uchechukwu Maduako, Destiny Nwagwu, Chiemela Wagbala, Chijioke Nwachukwu, Grace Ibeh, Steve Ochonma, and Ihuoma Ezechimerem.<\/p>\n
Governor Otti’s actions demonstrate his dedication to inclusive governance, ensuring that all segments of the population, including disabled persons, are adequately represented and supported.
