The building, formerly known as the Al-Hilal Hotel, later served as a hospital before being converted into a residential apartment after the hospital owners vacated the premises.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite the swift response from emergency responders and security personnel, rescue efforts faced significant delays due to the late arrival of cranes, which were essential for clearing the debris. As of 8:45 a.m., nearly two hours after the incident, the necessary equipment had not yet arrived, severely impacting the rescue operations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Abuja City Journal reports that two individuals have been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while a few others managed to escape the collapse on their own. One of the escapees, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted her narrow escape.
