{"id":38481,"date":"2024-07-11T12:03:08","date_gmt":"2024-07-11T12:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=38481"},"modified":"2024-07-11T12:03:08","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T12:03:08","slug":"kwara-governor-hails-fgs-anti-cattle-rustling-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/07\/11\/kwara-governor-hails-fgs-anti-cattle-rustling-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Kwara Governor Hails FG&#8217;s Anti-Cattle Rustling Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State expressed his appreciation for President Bola Tinubu&#8217;s decisive actions towards promoting livestock growth and putting an end to the persistent clashes between herders and farmers in numerous communities, during a statement made on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Mr AbdulRazaq promised to support the agricultural initiative by facilitating the construction and equipping of the Kwara NAITS centre.<\/span>Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Wednesday commended President Bola Tinubu for the bold steps to promote livestock and end perennial herders-farmers clashes across communities.<\/p>\n<div class=\"single-body\">\n<div class=\"adredux after-para-one aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"adbox\">\n<div>The governor specifically mentioned the recent inauguration of livestock reforms implementation committee by the federal government and the establishment of a Ministry for Livestock Development.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThese are historic efforts to transform the agricultural landscape and enhance food security in a sustainable way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>His excitement is contained in a speech delivered on his behalf by his Counsellor and Senior Advisor, Sa\u2019adu Salaudeen, at the launch of the National Animal Identification Traceability System for the state, organised by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.<\/p>\n<p>He said,\u00a0\u201cAbout 24 hours ago, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated the committee on the implementation of livestock reforms along with a historic plan to establish the Ministry of Livestock Development. This announcement has expectedly sparked national excitement around the future of livestock value chains and the potential to end the perennial clashes between herders and farmers. We thank Mr President for these historic steps and we are confident that all stakeholders will rally round the President to achieve this,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, and his team for the hard work to transform the agricultural sector for economic diversification.<\/p>\n<p>Mr AbdulRazaq pledged to support the agricultural initiative by facilitating the construction and equipping of the Kwara NAITS centre, and solicited more collaborations with the federal government, particularly in developing irrigation for all-year farming and agricultural mechanisation.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Mr Kyari said that NAITS was part of the national livestock transformation programmes of President Bola Tinubu administration seeking to reduce cattle rustling and farmers-herders clashes, and engender peaceful coexistence in the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the federal government was working tirelessly to develop livestock transformation that would satisfy local demands and the exportation to foreign countries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State expressed his appreciation for President Bola Tinubu&#8217;s decisive actions towards promoting livestock growth and putting an end to the persistent clashes between herders and farmers in numerous communities, during a statement made on Wednesday.
