The Abia State Government has announced a ban on street trading and the operation of illegal motor parks across Aba and other parts of the state. This development was disclosed on Monday by the Chairman of the Abia State Harmonized Taskforce, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu.<\/p>\n

In the statement, the government also prohibited roadside mechanic workshops, and the use of streets and public roads for religious, social, and commercial functions.<\/p>\n

“The executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, is leading a new government and implementing innovative measures for quality governance in Abia,” the statement read.<\/p>\n

The government has harmonized all approved taxes and levies, which were previously managed by various task forces from different ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). This move aims to eliminate the activities of touts who illegally issue tickets to motorists on public roads and streets.<\/p>\n
