The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has transferred 16 recently rescued kidnap victims to the Zamfara State government. These individuals, who were abducted from Zurmi, Duran, and Gusau metropolis in Zamfara State on April 22, 2024, were freed in two separate operations on June 27, 2024, in Shinkafi and Tsafe Local Government Areas.<\/p>\n

Abu Michael, Head of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), stated that the rescued victims comprised eight males and eight females. The rescue operations were conducted by a team of security operatives from the NCTC and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).<\/p>\n

During the handover of the victims to Zamfara State officials, led by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abubakar Nakwada, NSA Ribadu emphasized the commitment of President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration to eliminating kidnapping and other serious crimes in the country. He urged all citizens and residents to support security agencies in their mission to achieve a safer Nigeria.<\/p>\n

This handover follows the recent rescue of 22 abducted students and staff from the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State, through the joint efforts of security agencies coordinated by the NCTC under the leadership of Major General Adamu Laka.
