President Bola Tinubu has officially approved the appointment of nine new Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Each appointee will serve a term of five years, subject to the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, this was done in accordance with the authority vested in him by Section 154(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999, Amended) and Section 6 of the Electoral Act (2022).<\/p>\n

Mr. Isah Shaka Ehimeakne – Edo State<\/p>\n
Mr. Bamidele Agbede – Ekiti State<\/p>\n
Mr. Jani Adamu Bello – Gombe State<\/p>\n
Dr. Taiye Ilayasu – Kwara State<\/p>\n
Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi – Lagos State<\/p>\n
Alhaji Yahaya Bello – Nasarawa State<\/p>\n
Prof. Mohammed Yalwa – Niger State<\/p>\n
Dr. Anugbum Onuoha – Rivers State<\/p>\n
Mr. Abubakar Fawa Dambo – Zamfara State<\/p>\n
President Tinubu has called upon the newly appointed RECs to adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in the execution of their duties.
