Former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette will captain France\u2019s men\u2019s national team in the football event of the Paris 2024 Olympic games.<\/p>\n
According to EuroFoot, Lacazette was handed the captain\u2019s armband by the team\u2019s coach and France legend Thierry Henry.

Hosts France are in Group A alongside United States of America, Guinea and New Zealand.
\nThe French will open their campaign on July 24 against the United States before facing Guinea on July 27.<\/p>\n
On July 30, they will take on New Zealand in their final group game.
\nLacazette would hope to lead France to a first Olympic football gold since Los Angeles 1984.<\/p>\n
At the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, France had a disappointing campaign as they crashed out in the group stage.
