{"id":3694,"date":"2023-10-24T07:55:02","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T07:55:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=3694"},"modified":"2023-10-24T07:55:02","modified_gmt":"2023-10-24T07:55:02","slug":"fg-receives-108-nigerian-migrants-stranded-in-niger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2023\/10\/24\/fg-receives-108-nigerian-migrants-stranded-in-niger\/","title":{"rendered":"FG receives 108 Nigerian migrants stranded in Niger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has received 108 irregular Nigerians migrants stranded in Niger Republic.<\/p>\n<p>This is contained in a statement by Mr Alexander Oturu, Southwest Zonal Coordinator, National Commission For Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) on Tuesday in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The commission said the Nigerians include \u00a032 males, 29 females, 44 children and three infants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe migrants were conveyed to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, camp where the NCFRMI and International Organisation for Migration (IOM) have a tripartite agreement to provide temporary shelter for the returnees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore they are provided with onward transportation allowance to enable them get to their final destinations,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The return, he said, was facilitated by the Nigerian Mission in Niamey and the IOM.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dIn line with Mr President\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda, the returnees will be integrated into various government programmes, as well as the reintegration programmes of the UN Migration Agency,\u201d he said .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has received 108 irregular Nigerians migrants stranded in Niger Republic.
