This admission, along with evidence of the violations, made the decision unavoidable. The evidence showed that Ayodele was taking N25,000 from each of the 28 students in primary six and N8,000 from each student in primary four.

Akinwumi stated that the penalty aims to deter other head teachers in state-run elementary schools from violating government regulations. “The goal of this penalty is to send a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated,” he said.

Ayodele has been instructed to report to the SUBEB headquarters pending further resolution of the matter. Control of the school has been handed over to the senior assistant head teacher.

Additionally, Akinwumi demanded that Ayodele promptly return all funds collected from the students to their parents. “We expect full restitution of all unauthorized fees collected,” he emphasized.

The Executive Chairman reaffirmed Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to advancing the basic education sector and supporting educators through various incentives.
