Three Boko Haram terrorists voluntarily surrendered to troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) as a significant development in the ongoing ‘Operation Lake Sanity II’. Ndjamena Chad, MNJTF spokesman, released this information in a recent statement.<\/p>\n
According to Chad, two of the surrendered terrorists, Rawagana Mustapha (18) and Mustapha Ali (20), turned themselves in to troops at Wulgo in Cameroon’s Sector I. Meanwhile, in Nigeria’s Sector III, Ibrahim Malam (28) surrendered to the 403 Amphibious Brigade stationed in Baga. Initial investigations revealed that Malam had been a member of Boko Haram for six years, residing in Kwaleram, south of Lake Chad.<\/p>\n
“As Operation Lake Sanity II progresses, MNJTF urges other terrorists to follow suit and surrender, laying down their arms for the sake of lasting peace and prosperity in the region,” Chad emphasized.<\/p>\n
The surrender of these fighters marks a positive stride in the ongoing efforts by MNJTF to combat insurgency and restore stability in the Lake Chad Basin region. MNJTF continues to appeal to other insurgents to embrace peace and take advantage of rehabilitation opportunities provided by the multinational task force.<\/p>\n
