The Supreme Court is set to commence hearings on Monday regarding appeals filed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). These appeals seek to challenge the presidential victory of President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n

Atiku, Obi, and the APM submitted separate appeals to the apex court, aiming to nullify the results of the presidential election held on February 25. This comes after the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal upheld Tinubu’s victory.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court officially conveyed the hearing date to all the parties involved in the case last Thursday.<\/p>\n

Atiku and Obi contested the tribunal’s verdict and subsequently filed their appeals with the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the PDP candidate applied for permission to present a copy of President Tinubu’s academic records, which were released by the Chicago State University (CSU), USA. Atiku claimed that these records showed that Tinubu had submitted a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the former vice president is pursuing a court order in Washington, D.C. to compel the FBI to release documents related to President Tinubu’s $460,000 forfeiture case. The Supreme Court’s deliberations are expected to address these and other critical issues raised in the appeals.<\/p>\n
