The incident, which has aroused considerable alarm, saw Oni hauled into police custody, as documented in a video circulating online on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, and carried away by police in front of a crowd.<\/p>\n
The National Association of Ondo State Students issued statements distancing itself from the accused, clarifying that he is not a member or affiliate of the union.<\/p>\n
According to the statement: “We want to clarify that the individual Oni Olalekan popularly known as Asiwaju accused of s3xual assault and who has publicly denounced our association on Monday 10th of June 2024, is not a member, an executive or appointee of our association.”<\/p>\n

The spokesperson of the Ekiti State Police Command, Abutu Sunday, who confirmed the arrest on Tuesday said that the suspect denied the allegations.<\/p>\n
