Despite being overtaken by the Hollywood movie <em>Bad Boys: Ride or Die<\/em>, <em>Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti<\/em> has grossed a remarkable \u20a6131.4 million so far.<\/p>\n<p>On June 10, 2024, CEAN published a report on the top 10 films in Nigeria, covering the period from June 7, 2024, to June 9, 2024. <em>Bad Boys: Ride or Die<\/em> debuted at the Nigerian box office on June 7, 2024, and quickly climbed to the top spot, earning \u20a668.9 million in its opening weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <em>Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti<\/em> has outperformed last week\u2019s leader, <em>Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga<\/em>, which has now slipped to third place with a total gross of \u20a6105.9 million.<\/p>\n<p>Other notable films in the top 10 include the Nollywood crime film <em>Criminal<\/em>, which has grossed \u20a632.3 million to date, including a weekly gross of \u20a68.9 million, securing the fourth spot. The comedy-drama <em>Ajosepo<\/em> has also had a successful run, earning \u20a650.4 million in its first five days (April 10 to April 14) and currently standing at eighth place with a weekly total of \u20a62.4 million and an impressive total gross of \u20a6251.4 million.<\/p>\n<p>New entries like <em>Deafening Silence<\/em>, which debuted on June 7, 2024, have grossed \u20a61.2 million, while the Yoruba epic film <em>Blacksmith: Alagbede<\/em> rounds out the top 10. <em>Blacksmith: Alagbede<\/em> has made \u20a662 million in total gross, with a weekly earning of \u20a6974,675.<\/p>\n<p>The ongoing success of <em>Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti<\/em> highlights the increasing popularity and impact of Nollywood films in the Nigerian box office, reflecting a growing appreciation for local cinematic storytelling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Oratokhai Jesusemen O.
