{"id":33417,"date":"2024-06-03T08:23:55","date_gmt":"2024-06-03T08:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=33417"},"modified":"2024-06-03T08:23:55","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T08:23:55","slug":"2026-wcq-15-super-eagles-players-train-eight-still-expected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/06\/03\/2026-wcq-15-super-eagles-players-train-eight-still-expected\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 WCQ: 15 Super Eagles Players Train, Eight Still Expected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fifteen Super Eagles players were involved in training in Uyo on Sunday in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed by the new Eagles Media Officer Promise Efoghe.<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles will host South Africa inside the Godswill Akpabio stadium on Friday 7, June 2024 in their third Group C game.<\/p>\n<p>On 10 June, the team will travel to Abidjan, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire to take on Benin Republic on matchday four.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Media Officer, 13 players trained on Sunday morning while two more arrived thereafter and 15 trained later in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>Efoghe then stated that eight more players are still being expected in camp ahead of the double header games.<\/p>\n<p>Among the 15 players in camp are Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Samuel Chukwueze, Stanley Nwabali, Terem Moffi, Victor Boniface and Raphael Onyedika.<\/p>\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/21732118914,41929849\/completesports_com-large-leaderboard-2_0__container__\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-completesports_com-large-leaderboard-2-0_charity\">\n<p>Others are Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Alhassan Yusuf, Chidozie Awaziem, Ojo Olorunleke, Ismaila Sodiq, Ibrahim Olawoyin and Benjamin Tanimu.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-114\" data-inserter-version=\"2\" data-ezoic-video-excluded=\"1\"><\/span>While the eight players still being expected are Maduka Okoye, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman and Paul Onuachu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Players in camp:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.
