In a communiqu\u00e9 issued at the end of its monthly congress on Wednesday and released on Thursday by the NUJ Secretary, Comrade Olusola Oladapo, the union highlighted the urgent need for enhanced security measures in these regions, which comprise five local government areas in Ogbomoso and ten in Oke Ogun.<\/p>\n

The NUJ emphasized the critical need for immediate action to ensure the safety of residents and curb criminal activities. The communiqu\u00e9 specifically called on Governor Makinde and security agencies to prioritize this issue.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Oyo NUJ Council urged the governor to address the problem of overpopulation in many public secondary schools in the state. The union recommended creating a more conducive learning environment by addressing the shortage of teachers and lauded the recent initiative to employ 7,000 additional teachers in primary schools.<\/p>\n
