These contraband items were seized from illegal traffickers six years ago and were incinerated at a designated site in Abuja.<\/p>\n
Minister of State for the Environment, Dr. Iziaq A. Salako, presided over the destruction of these items and emphasized that this action not only eliminates contrabands but also sends a strong message against the illegal trade that poses a severe threat to wildlife populations.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mark Ofua, a conservationist from the Wild Africa Fund, applauded the government’s initiative to burn the pangolin scales, emphasizing that it serves as a stern warning to traffickers and the international community that illegal wildlife trade will face increasing resistance.<\/p>\n
