President Bola Tinubu officially inaugurated three newly screened and cleared ministers on Monday, bolstering the government’s efforts to strengthen its leadership team.<\/p>\n
The newly inaugurated ministers are Jamila Ibrahim, Ayodele Olawande, and Balarabe Lawal. Their induction took place following the administration of their oaths of office just before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.<\/p>\n
Jamila Ibrahim has been entrusted with the crucial youth portfolio, while Ayodele Olawande will assume the role of Minister of State for Youth. Balarabe Lawal has been assigned the important position of Minister of Environment, a role that holds significance in the government’s environmental and sustainability efforts.<\/p>\n
During the FEC meeting, George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, solemnly announced the passing of Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun, the first Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Ajose-Adeogun, who had a distinguished career in public service, passed away on July 1.<\/p>\n
Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun held key positions during his tenure, including serving as a two-time Federal Commissioner for Cooperatives and Supply before taking on the role of Federal Commissioner for Special Duties responsible for the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA). Notably, he played a pivotal role in overseeing the planning and design of the Abuja masterplan, a vital blueprint for the nation’s capital.<\/p>\n
In 1976, Ajose-Adeogun was appointed as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory by the Murtala Muhammed military administration, a position he held until 1979. His contributions to the development and organization of the nation’s capital were invaluable.
