Appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the “Who’s In My House” show, hosted by Hawa Magaji, Banky W discussed how he and his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, maintain their privacy amidst the constant scrutiny of the public eye.<\/p>\n
During the interview, Banky W highlighted the importance of not being swayed by others’ opinions. He underscored that seeking validation from social media can be detrimental, especially in today’s digital age. “Don’t get your validation from the comments section, which is very hard to do in today’s times,” he advised.<\/p>\n
He elaborated on the temptation to immediately check likes and comments after posting something online, noting that while it’s natural to care about feedback, it’s crucial not to let it define one’s self-worth. “You can get the humour from there, but the lesson is to not get the validation from the comment section,” he said.<\/p>\n
Banky W acknowledged the inherent human desire for approval, explaining, “It is unrealistic to not care because you will care about what people say. The reason why you take a shower, brush your teeth, and get dressed to look presentable is because you care what people think.”<\/p>\n
However, he warned against allowing this concern to become overpowering. “It’s good to care, but it’s bad when you let that control you. I think that we’ve gotten to a dangerous point in the world where we’ve gone past the point of caring about people’s opinions to being controlled by them. Now people do things just to trend, say things just to go viral, or make things up,” he observed.<\/p>\n
